Dr. Christina Carter is a local girl through and through.  She graduated from Millburn High where she was a multi-sport varsity athlete.  She earned her BS in Molecular Biology from Haverford College in Pennsylvania where she was captain of the fencing team.  She returned to New Jersey to attend UMDNJ-NJDS, now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she was honored with earning the American Academy of Dentistry for Children Award, the Pierre Fauchard Award and others.  She completed her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at NYU, where she served as Chief Resident.  She continued her specialty training and completed her certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at NYU.  She then completed a fellowship in Cleft, Craniofacial and Surgical Orthodontics at NYU Langone Medical Center- Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.  After 5 years of post-dental school training, she is one of a handful of doctors across the country with this comprehensive training.  She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.  More recently, she earned her Certificate as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York.

 Dr. Carter has been named multiple times as a “Top Doctor” by New Jersey Magazine and “Favorite Kid’s Doc” by New Jersey Family Magazine. She has served on the American Association of Orthodontists Council of Orthodontic Health Care and multiple AAO committees. She is a Past-President of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists (NESO) and served as their Delegate Chair to the House of Delegates.

She often appears on Sirius Radio “Doctor Radio”, AAPD Podcasts, and has been published in Scholastic & Kiwi Magazines. In addition, she has appeared on Inside Edition, WPIX News and Today.com.

She lectures nationally and internationally on both pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and treating patients with special needs. Dr. Carter is an Assistant Professor at New York University College of Dentistry in the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics.

She is a board member to NYU’s Center for People with Disabilities Clinic.  She is also a member of Union Catholic High School’s Consultative Board.  She is an avid supporter of myFace, Girls on the Run and other philanthropic organizations.
